|Letter from the President|
Fast doesn’t always mean flexible. As IT professionals, we don’t just want to be able to retrieve data quickly, we want to store the data in the ideal location – whether that’s in the data center or in the cloud. And, we want the flexibility of being able to seamlessly move it when we need to. To do this, many of us have turned to flash storage. This comes with many advantages in the speed realm but lacked the flexibility of movement that we desired.
However, when HPE purchased Nimble last year, it gained the ability to provide a flash arrays storage option with multicloud flash fabric. This solution finally delivered what we had been waiting for -speed and the flexibility. You can read more about what makes HPE Nimble Cloud storage multicloud flash fabric so special in this month’s edition.
Just like this example, we are seeing more and more of our ‘problems’ being solved by the creativity of technology. Keeping pace with the changes can be daunting. That’s why we are launching Tech Talk – a monthly webinar series where we will bring you up-to-date information from some of the biggest players in the industry (who happen to also be our partners) including Microsoft, HPE, Aruba and Extreme. On the fourth Wednesday of each month beginning in May, you can log in to learn more about a timely tech topic hosted by Networking Technologies and featuring guest speakers from our partners. This is a free benefit to our customers and subscribers. Keep an eye on your inbox and our website for more details in the coming weeks.
Check out our onsite events as well in the Events section below – I hope to see you in person or online soon!
From all of us at Networking Technologies,

|When you drive home, your garage door opens as you arrive. That toy bear Santa gave your kids talks and sounds just like you. Your smart wristwatch keeps tabs on your heart rate. You love the IoT world as much as everyone else, but most people are blissfully unaware of the need for IoT security and security training—until their data gets hacked.|
|What Girl Scouts Can Teach You About Blockchain|

|Having trouble getting your head around how blockchain IT works and why it’s important for business?
In order to help simplify things for you (and in the spirit of it being Girl Scout cookie season), let’s look back at a model that any former Girl or Boy Scout knows well: the fire triangle.
The fire triangle is a simple way of understanding the conditions to create fire. Specifically, you need heat, oxygen, and fuel combined in order for a fire to be able to start.
