Letter from the President
In an industry-wide effort to facilitate and accelerate enterprise adoption of hybrid cloud, major partners including Google, Lenovo and Hewlett Packard Enterprises recently announced a partnership to run Anthos (formerly Google’s Cloud Services Platform). Officials announced that Anthos will also run on Cisco Systems, Dell EMC, VMWare and Intel hardware. This partnership allows the OEMs to run Google Cloud applications and services within their own data centers.

These integrated hybrid solutions allow faster deployment of on-premise hardware while facilitating easy mobility for applications and workloads to the cloud without redeveloping and retesting. Hybrid cloud solutions are in demand– 58% of respondents to RightScale 2019 State of the Cloud report (Flexera) are utilizing multicloud strategies with hybrid clouds, a 7-percentage point increase from 2018.

In addition to Google, HPE also announced a partnership with hyperconverged software provider Nutanix to deliver IT hardware via HPE’s GreenLake, a consumption-based, pay-per-use model. HPE will partner with Google to develop two Validated Designs for Anthos, which will enable customers to deploy and manage services both on-premises or in the cloud atop HPE’s SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure, Nimble Storage hardware and ProLiant servers. This will allow management of public cloud and on-prem environments via Anthos while leveraging consumption-based model on-prem with GreenLake.

There’s never been a better time to move toward hybrid cloud solutions. As you can see, it’s no longer a one-size-fits-all market; there are many options to ensure the right mix for your business. If you’re ready to explore cloud or hybrid cloud, let us know – we’d be happy to provide you a plan to meet your objectives.

Here’s how to make it easier

group of business people working in office including remote work

Working remotely is appealing for a lot of reasons: You don’t have to commute, you’re in charge of your daily routine, and you can work for a company you love that just happens to be in a different city. (If you’re a remote worker in Vermont you can even get a cash bonus for being so awesome.) According to research by HR consulting firm Robert Half, 77 percent of employees say they would take a job that allows telecommuting at least some of the time. And since 75 percent of managers say they are open to their employees telecommuting, it’s no surprise that working from home is a commonly-used perk used to attract new hires.
